The "Bungy Trampoline" is an amusement device with its origins in the circus world. It was constituted at its base with a harness held by two ropes held in place with two high anchor points at each side of the structure. This system was used by acrobats to train without running the risk of injuring themselves. Later the ropes were replaced by elasticized ropes.

In 1990, an Italian built a motorized structure, which added an electric winch to the harness and elastic ropes that stretched and relaxed the ropes automatically. With this new system, the ropes were 3 to 4 times more effective and jumps of 8 meters in height became possible. He commercialized 50 of these structures supplied with only one trampoline per device.

In 1997 a Swiss acrobatic skier, who owned one of the Italian structure, built the first "Bungy Trampoline"", fitted with 4 trampolines and a trailer. He used it professionally.

During 1999 and 2000 other companies, including BUNGY ATTRACTIONS, began building "Bungy Trampoline" based on their own system and architectural style, all however inspired from the original Italian concept.
